Suddenly I kind of miss this thing, the Jukebox.

It used to be around like, everywhere. In foodcourts, in shopping malls. I used to love sitting in front of it, looking at what the next song could be. Cheena Piang songs like, Andy Lau, Faye Wong and Jacky Cheung etc. I like to sit in front of it, singing along to the melodies that make me happy.

Slowly but surely, it moved out of our lives, when radio and mp3s became more and more ubiquitous. I didn’t really notice its disappearance until today, when I suddenly miss it. There are too many things in life that we take for granted and don’t realise its importance and value until it is lost. It makes me think. At least, I know that the jukebox has made a difference in my life, it did a big part in putting music into my life. To me, it lives on, even though I don’t see it around anymore.

To think about it, this is the same with people. There are some people that was always there, helping along the way. We always thought they will always be there. But is that the case? There are too many friends that I have forgotten and let them pass me. But nevertheless, the feeling of being remembered is awesome, way too awesome to describe. Its like, the first thing you read in the morning is a text message that says “I miss you ):”.

I just hope that I have made a difference in somebody’s life. Was talking to Chris and Jasmine on the train home last year, and this thing that Chris talked about is so impactful that I still remember it to this day.

“Look at anyone in this cabin. If anyone of them didn’t exist, the world we know now will change. We may not even exist in the first place.”

It takes at maximum 6 people to link up two individuals, as I have learnt from “The Concerto”. It means that everyone is linked to everyone. Be it between me and Obama, or you to Mao Zedong, or Kim Jong-il to your dad. At the maximum, 6 persons, to link both up. How lovely is that!

My Music Fiesta kakis!

DMIT Music Fiesta was a success, I loved the experience and the kids too! Hopefully in the next few camps, I can still be part of it. Had a fun time working with Mr Leong, Mr Ang and all the Sec 1 to Sec 3 kids. They were a co-operative bunch of people and it was very enjoyable working with them!

Through this programme, I actually saw the very naked and raw love for music in these kids. During our time in DMAT, and all the criticism that were thrown to us by better musicians; has our passion for music degraded? Did we lose the sheer pleasure and love that we had for music? Just playing or listening?

They still had it in them, I mean the kids. Music is still a hobby and something fun to them, and perhaps they have learnt a lot more than they expected during this camp. But for us, music, something that we loved, it became something that we have to work with, and not just purely enjoying it anymore. How can I get it back?

I remember a conversation with GLow in Year 1, when I was doing Assignment 4 part 1.

Me: There are a few songs that I listen to and feel very touched by it…
GLow: The magic of music will disappear when you have been in the industry as long as me.
Me: Huh, so you won’t be touched by songs anymore?
GLow: Not quite anymore. When I hear a song I automatically listen for the mix. Unless I come across really good tunes.

Would the magic of music work on me in 20 years time? I hope it does.

Oh, the good times in Harbin.

Probably remember this, Jin Shang Jing Museum, the horrible toilets etc etc. For everyone on Facebook, probably Zaki the Cat story too, :p

But it was a great experience, I cannot emphasize more. Lovely.

Its rather impossible to go back to the days then, although many of us would love to, but oh well, we know it. Harbin is the land of ultimate chillax, and I’m glad it gave us a wonderful impression. Keep it that way, I’m quite certain that when we go back on our own, it won’t be the case anymore, haha.

The trip made some friendship turn bad, and some friendships strengthened. Many new friends made as well, and too many inside jokes that was created along the way. I guess we will all laugh uncontrollably when we meet another Ferdinand or Chen Hai Feng, and only we will know what’s so funny about it.

There are so many things that I want to do this holiday. I hope I have enough time, and hopefully enough time to gaze into the undefined distance and have some time of my own out of all these.

The awesomest company, the awesomest birthday, the awesomest phone call ever. I hope it really materializes, then it can be the best ever birthday present. Then I can really fly to the skies.

Meeting up with MJK at 5.30pm tmr, a little late. Heh, why do we always like to hang out late! Oh well, I don’t mind because I haven’t been seeing them for half a year. Finally getting to! I hope I remember their souvenoirs.

Finally back from Harbin, China, but it still kinda feels like I’m still there. Can’t really change out of the slack and chill lifestyle over there. What do I mean?

Monday to Friday: Wake up at 8am, lesson at 8.10am, still can get there in time. 3.10pm lesson end, go back hostel, sleep/watch show until 7pm, dinner at Jiaoziyuan, 9pm, go back, bathe, watch show/chill. Then, sleep.

CHILLANOT.

Miss Harbin loads, the company, the weather, the people, the lifestyle, the place. So glad I went for the trip, so sad that Singapore is a baking oven.

Oh well, I want to go back there. Heh. Huiching wants to go back for more soft toys, I suggested she can go with an empty luggage, ship whatever she can back, and put 20kg worth of soft toys in the luggage. She says its a good idea. HAHA.

Oh man, I miss Harbin, and DMAT. Whee, good thing JAYSZ are meeting up tmr! Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait! 13 hours till I see them again, which probably 10 hours would mean sleep. Heh. DMAT picnic this thursday! So means will see the rest of the people that I haven’t been seeing for 1 month. WHEEEEE!

Oh yes, I’m 18 now.

Really, these little details that make me happy. How do I miss out so many of them! I mean, how many versions are there exactly anyway! I’ve started out reading the SMILE note, and the BURP note, and the LL.VS.FL note. How many more are there to surprise me tmr!

Okay maybe not tmr, not going to school and thus, not getting a coke. Cokes are only to be bought in school because they only costs 70 cents and are ice-cold. But honestly, I’m delighted yet disgusted by this. Delighted at how F&N makes it a point to add these little happy details; disgusted at myself for all the ignorance and negligence to all the little happy details in my life.

Reminisce, its always a good feeling. Really, too many things has past, and too quickly as well. But how my life is fast paced, I like it this way. I love how I lead my life right now, except for the small little regrets that I have once in awhile. But I know they will make me who I am in the future, and whtr I love it or not, so just let fate decide itself!

Oh love, it comes only once in a lifetime. Oh dear, it will never change again. Oh darling, it’s fate.

I didn’t realise this all the while I’ve been drinking coke. Is it just me or it hasn’t been up for long?

It kind of sucks to miss out little details that make people happy. Reading this made me smile from the bottom of my heart.

And it really sucks when we take notice of minute and really minimal details that don’t mean the way we see it.

But anyway, this should be a happy post, because I just drank coke and read something that made me happy that talks about happiness! SMILE people!

Oh yes, and I’m so not gonna credit LG Viewty for this photo. Quality sucks. Arghhh.

Maybe I should consider to switch to wordpress for good. I mean, it has the blog stats function that I want to have, and it does a word count for me. So I don’t need to copy and paste the entry to a word document and use word count function there. I could easily know how much words I have written by looking at the word count function. Furthermore, I get to set my own banner in WordPress and the user interface is so much sleeker and elegant! Hmm, think again!
